Austin earned these recognitions for his academic achievements in school and his outstanding performance on the PSAT and AP exams.

Due to the rise in Covid cases in our community, the decision has been made to postpone our parent orientation scheduled for this Tuesday, January 11m 2022, at 5:30 p.m. At this time, we have not set a date to reschedule the parent orientation.

There will be a Work Based Learning orientation on Monday, December 13, at 8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. All students that will be Work Based Learning, Teacher Apprentice, and Technology Interns next semester are required to attend the orientation.
We will be having an "Ugly Christmas Sweater Day" on Wednesday, December 15. We hope that students will participate and wear their ugly sweater to school.
Saturday's basketball games vs. Macon County will be played at the GSW Storm Dome on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University. JV girls will play at 12:00, JV boys at 1:00, Varsity Girls at 2:15 and Varsity boys at 3:45. Admission will be $6.
UGA Young Scholars Program! Sponsored by the UGA College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, this is a six week, paid internship for high school students. The program has been on hiatus for the two previous summers, but we are on track to host students for summer 2022 on the Athens, Griffin and Tifton campuses. This is an application and interview process and all documentation is submitted electronically with an application deadline of January 31, 2022.

While wrestling has been at the school for a while, we have not yet hosted a match. That ends tomorrow. Wrestling will host Marion and Crawford tomorrow beginning at 6:00. Admission will be $5.
SCHS is offering after school assistance this week and next week to help students finish the semester strong.
Math is Monday-Friday- Harnage and/or Albertson
Science- Wednesday- Mrs. Brunson
Social Studies- Wednesday- Coach Rooks
ELA- Wednesday- Mrs. Rebecca Moore
Students can stay from 3:15-4:15 to get help for a test, completing assignments, extra help on a concept, etc. This is NOT just for students who are failing or are in jeopardy of failing a class. Any HS student can take advantage of this opportunity. We are hoping to offer this after school assistance again next semester.
