Friday, Dec. 1, we will have a Hat Day for a $1 donation to help raise money for items to give to the Children's Hospital in Columbus. Armbands will be sold in front of the library Friday morning.
Schley County Retired teachers met and got their "state of the system” address from Superintendent Hall. Many were impressed with all aspects of the growth of our school and the facility improvements, especially the family and consumer science room and new gym entrance. Wow!
Students in Mrs. Crook’s ELA class put their heads together to figure out the point of view for a short story. They must first read the passage, cross out the dialogue, highlight the pronouns, and determine the point of view.

Annie Auditions at GSW
Congratulations to Alexis Picquet, John Wesley Beaver, Kyler Hoffman, and Katelyn Bailey for placing 4th out of 10 teams last wee at the Agriculture Technology and Equipment ID Competition in Fort Valley.
All-Region Softball
Mrs. Cheek's Business and Technology and Business and Communications classes have been developing leadership and teamwork skills necessary to work efficiently and effectively. The students participated in an activity where they had to work together in teams to untangle themselves from a human knot. The Business Communication students have also been working on developing their oral communication skills along with using active listening skills to respond appropriately to oral communication. Students worked together in groups of five where each team had three members who had to build a detailed structure out of Legos and give precise directions to two members who were blindfolded as to how to recreate the structure.

Mrs. Bonner's 7th grade math classes explored ratios and unit rates by doing jumping jacks, hopping one foot, doing squats, and saying the alphabet as many times as possible in one minute. These unit rates were then used to make predictions about how many times the tasks could be done in 10 minutes and one hour.

These students completed their ELA Reading Bingo for the month of October for Mrs. Crook’s 6th grade class! Way to go kiddos!!
