Sixth Grade is off to a bang this year. We are so very excited to have our students back in the classroom with us. Since we have been back in school, the kiddos have adjusted well to the new environment and all it entails. One speedy trip across the parking lot and the students have gained big kid access to a locker. The students have learned quickly to open their lockers in a timely manner and the importance of being responsible for their materials needed for each class. Each student is issued their own computer and charger to use in and out of the classroom. During the pandemic, the students had to adjust to new ways of learning within our new platform, Microsoft Teams. Each student is proficient with this program and continues to fine-tune their abilities in using it. In order to meet the needs of social distancing and keeping our students’ safety a priority, we have employed an indoor and outdoor lunch rotation. The students have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to sit outside and the change of scenery. Among the many hurdles, the teachers and students are working extremely hard this year to overcome the challenges faced so far during 2020. The Sixth Grade Team is so thankful for such supportive and involved administrators, parents, guardians, and community members during this trying season. We look forward to further success for the remainder of the school year.
